Driving your Porsche, top down or sunroof open in the spring, or windows up and AC on in the summer, or heater on during the winter, is the best way to appreciate the quality of the marque. Porsche designs and builds some of the finest cars in the world.
We schedule several drives around the area throughout the year. They may be for just an hour or two, or a trip to a favorite lunch destination. Or, they could be an overnight drive to some of the more distant and scenic spots in the state.
We may also schedule a longer, multi-day trip to go to an event in a nearby state, or across the country. No matter the distance, driving your Porsche is an experience like non other.
Driving in with the club can be great fun, but so can a spontaneous drive when the urge hits. We recognize the lure of the road when you have a Porsche in your garage. So in order to encourage the enjoyment of just driving, we've included a few individual driving contests.
This event recognizes the most miles driven in a year in a single Porsche. This is great for you daily drivers who commute in your Macan, Panamera, or any Porsche, then take it out on the weekends too. Start the contest by taking a pic of your odometer and send it to cimarron918@gmail.com. On December 1st, take another pic of the odometer and email that in also. We'll compare all the entries and recognize the winners at the Christmas party.
Like the Highest Mileage contest, this is for the longest road trip of the year. Same basic rules; submit a pictures of your odometer at the beginning and end of your trip, and please include where you went and stops you made. Something like, "We visited family in Philadelphia, stopping at the St. Louis arch and also the Rock n Roll HoF in Cleveland along the way. Coming back we stopped at a few Civil War sites in Virginia, and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. The total trip was 3051 miles including the small side trips."
This is great for those who make the trip to either coast for a Porsche Treffen event, or to Sebring or Daytona, or see the National Parks, or visit family at a distant location. Mileage contests are on your honor, we won't be verifying your mileage and destinations, however you may get some serious side-eye if you say you drove to Hawaii.
A new event for 2025. Take a picture of your car in front of a government building. The first letter in the name of the location, city, or town counts toward points. The object is to get a picture at a location representing every letter of the alphabet. Full rules below...
ABCs of Touring Contest –
Goal - Finish the year with a complete set of letters of the alphabet; plus, additional points for letters only after all other letters have been found, (except X).
See the example pic of Chris' red Boxster in front of the Jenks City Hall building. Chris gets one point credit for the letter J.
Winner – Highest points. Each letter = 1 point.
Tie Breaker – Most letters from out-of-state locations.
Second Tie Breaker – If points are equal, and both have the same number of out-of-state locations, then the letter farthest from Porsche Tulsa will win.
Examples –
Winner has all letters of the alphabet, minus X, plus several duplicate letters, including letters from other state locations. (A-Z, (no X), = 25 points) + (A-G, L, P, W, and Y, = 11 points); SIX are from out-of-state locations.
Second place has all letters of the alphabet, minus X; duplicate letters, but fewer letters from out-of-state locations than the winner. (A-Z, (no X), = 25 points) + (A-E, L-N, P, W, and S, = 11 points); FIVE are from out-of-state locations.
Third place has all the letters of the alphabet, plus a few duplicate letters, and no out-of-state letters.
SCORING
You score one point by submitting a picture of your Porsche, or a rental Porsche, in front of a government building or structure with the name of the city, village, town, county, state, territory, or country on it.
Submit individual pictures of your Porsche, or a rental Porsche, to cimarron918@gmail.com for each letter of the alphabet.
An “official sign” must be in each photo. An official sign is defined as: A government building or structure, with the name of the city, village, town, county, state, territory, or country on it. An example of a government building is a post office, city hall, or police station. Other acceptable examples:libraries, water towers, and museums, as long as they are of the same name as the city, village, town, county, state, territory, or country.
The name of the location must be clearly seen in the picture.
Only the first letter of the location where the sign or building is located is the letter for which you will receive a single point. Example – if you take a picture in Ponca City, only the letter “P” will receive a point. You don’t get a point for the “C.” Made up Example - The Frank Phillips Public Library of Bartlesville will only count as a “B,” not an F, P, or L.
You can download and use the pdf file below to help you keep track of where you've been and the letters you still need to collect.
It must be a government entity/building/structure/sign. Commercial or private buildings or signs do not count.
The letter X is excepted from this contest as very few cities or towns in America begin with an X.
Parks and recreational areas do not qualify.(e.g. Devil's Den, Robber’s Cave, Great Salt Plains, … all do not count). It must be a city, village, town, county, state, territory, or country.
Mileage markers and directional signs do not qualify. e.g. "Dallas - 90 miles" doesn't count.
“Welcome To ________” does count if it is a government sign. For example, “Welcome to Okmulgee” would count for the letter “O,” EXCEPT, if it was from a business, then it will not count.
Government vehicles do not qualify. (e.g. a Tulsa Police vehicle doesn't count as a "T").
A second point will be awarded for a duplicate letters only after all the letters of the alphabet, minus X, have been photographed.Example – I have a picture of me and my car at both Cleveland, OK, and Coffeyville, KS; but I’m missing a picture at a city or town starting with W. Therefore, I’m won’t receive a second point for the second C, and I’ll miss out on the tie-breaker to someone else who has all the letters, even if they are all from Oklahoma cities or towns.
Tie-breaker is the highest number of photos taken at out-of-state locations.
Your Pictures must include:
Your parked, stationary, Porsche must be in each photo. A Porsche rental is also acceptable. Drive-by pictures are not acceptable. Your car must be parked.
Only Porsches please; a picture of your non-Porsche won’t count.
No Photoshopped or AI generated pictures will count.
