New Autocross Rules for 2025
The 2025 Autocross events will be scored in two ways this year. The CRPCA Board of Directors and Autocross committee want to encourage participation, as well as recognize driver’s skill and speed.
The Autocross Committee will give out multiple awards at the annual Cimarron Region Christmas Party. They include: the top three fastest drivers according to raw times; the top three fastest drivers according to a PAX factoring system; the fastest Lady driver, the fastest novice, the most improved novice, and awards for participation.
The season has fourteen scheduled events that count towards the end-of-year awards; ten are at the Corporate Woods location and four are in conjunction with the Northeast SCCA region, held at Davis Field in Muskogee.
Besides the ten counting events, there will be five non-counting events; a Car Handling Clinic for novice or interested drivers, a pre-season practice, a 4-door day, a Ladies’ Day, and a post-season Fun Run Day. Nineteen total autocross events for the year!
Each of the 10 counting events held at Corporate Woods will include a timing-optional session for any drivers who just want to practice their skills and experience what their Porsche can do without competing against other drivers.
Registration for each of the events is at their respective dates on our website calendar, through links to ClubRegistration.net for CRPCA dates, or through the NeOkla SCCA website.
Scoring
Points will be awarded to all timed participants, with 100 points being given to both the fastest driver in raw time, and also the fastest in the PAX category. The second fastest in each category will be awarded 97 points. Subsequent finishers will also be awarded points stepping down by three points at each place.
The category of fastest driver is simply the fastest time of the day, plus any penalties if incurred. A two second penalty is added to a driver’s time for knocking a cone over or out of place.
The PAX factoring system has been used by the CRPCA in the past, allowing drivers to compare their performance to dissimilar cars, and is being reintroduced using the 2025 SCCA rules. During registration or at the beginning of each autocross event, each driver’s car will be assigned to a class according to its year, model, and any modifications. The PAX factor for that class will be combined with the raw course times, including penalties, to result in a PAX score. The list of classes, the PAX factor, and the cars that fall under each class are at Appendix #1 at the end of this article.
Awards
For the Participation award, a driver must participate in six of the 14 counting events.
The Fastest Driver awards recognize the top three drivers with the highest point totals, given for the fastest times, in a minimum of eight events. The driver may participate in all 14 counting events, but the best eight finishes will count.
The Fastest PAX awards recognize the top three drivers with the highest point totals, in a minimum of eight events, using the PAX factoring system. The driver may drive a different Porsche, or the same car but with modifications, at each event. The PAX factoring system theoretically equals dissimilar cars, therefore a different, or modified car may be driven. The best eight finishes will count towards the award if driver participated in more than eight events.
The Fastest Lady driver must drive in any eight events. The PAX factoring system will be used to determine the Fastest Lady driver. The Lady driver does not have to be a novice.
The Fastest Novice must also drive in any eight events. The PAX factoring system will be used to determine the Fastest Novice. A driver is a novice if this season is their first full year to participate in autocross. A novice does not have to have zero experience. Having driven in autocross four or fewer times in prior years is considered a novice.
The Most Improved Novice must drive in any eight events. The PAX factoring system will be used to determine the novice driver’s progression of improvement in driving times, from their first event to their last event of the season.
